Taking part in newsgroups and discussion forums is a great way to build your reputation online as someone who is knowledgeable and helpful. Please keep in mind that most newsgroups, blog networks and discussion forums do not allow people to blatantly advertise in them. Instead, offer friendly, useful tips and advice. Create a "signature file" with a link back to your web site, newsletter, or blog that will automatically be added to the bottom of every post you make. If people like your advice, they may decide to visit your site and take a look around.
