Here's a great little list of free stuff and freebie sites.  This page will be updated frequently so check back often.  Before signing up for any offers from any site, make sure you follow these two steps:

• First on the list: PROTECT YOUR COMPUTER.  Make sure to download software that will detect viruses, adware, and spyware.   I suggest Ad-Aware and SpyBot for adware/spyware.  For viruses, AVG-Anti-Virus provides great protection.  Sygate or Zone Alarm are good free firewalls.  ZDNet has a long list of great downloads in several categories.  I don't run into very many problems but I keep my computer protected.  Make sure to update frequently.
  

• Set up a separate email address.  This will keep your main inbox free of extra email.  Check with your Internet service provider first (AOL, for example).  Try Yahoo! or HotMail if you can't get separate addresses with your ISP.
  

IMPORTANT: To safeguard your personal data and prevent unwanted e-mail, check the privacy policy of a site and be sure to opt out of any mailings you don't want to receive.
