The obvious question: If I hate paid email, then why do I have a paid email system? To get paid to read your email (and actually earn some money) you need several key components:
The
"I Hate Paid Email" system will provide
you with
all four of these components. Now, let me start by saying
that
this
will take some time and effort on your part. You really need
to
think
of a paid email business as just that, a business. I can show
you
how
to do it but if you really want to get paid to read email - YOU will
have to ACTUALLY read the paid email and do the advertising.
Think of
it as a part-time job. The more effort you put in, the more you will
get out.
STEP 1: GETTING PREPAREDBefore
you
start signing up for paid email programs, you need to have a
few things in place. First, you need an email address just
for
paid
email. I would recommend using an email through your current
ISP. Most
ISPs offer multiple email addresses. I would set up a new
email through
them just for this purpose. I have tried this with free email
accounts,
such as Yahoo email, but without much luck. The emails
get
blocked even if you turn the spam guard off. Plus, you will
want to
receive your paid email on your computer through a program such as Mozilla
Thunderbird, Outlook, or Outlook
Express.
If you use web-based email it will slow you
down considerably. If you don't have extra email addresses
through your
ISP, then try to find an email service that won't block these types of
email and will allow you to use a program like Thunderbird, Outlook, or
Outlook
Express. If you do have an email you can use through your
ISP, be sure to turn off any spam guards for that account.
Once
you
have your new email address, set it up in
either Mozilla Thunderbird, Outlook, or Outlook Express.
There are others out there that I am
not too familiar with but here are the basic concepts you need.
You don't want your email to be web-based. You want to
receive
your paid
email locally on your machine. You need to be able to create
separate
folders for each paid to read email site and you need to be able to
apply rules to your incoming mail to put them in those folders as they
are received.
Now,
download a tabbed browser such as Mozilla
Firefox, Avant
Browser, or Netscape
Navigator. They are FREE,
so don't worry. These programs allow you
to view and read multiple paid email ads at once. Let's say
the
average paid
email ad is paying you 1 cent per minute of viewing time.
That means,
if you were to do these one at a time, that would be the equivalent of
$0.60/hr. I don't know about you but $0.60/hr is hardly
worth my time. With this program, you will be able to open
several ads simultaneously in that same minute ($5.00 to $6.00/hr or
better).
Now, that's more like it. I also recommend downloading Roboform.
This
will give you a form filler which will memorize your
sign-ins and passwords for you. This is a trial version of
Roboform. It will memorize up to 10 sites for you without
upgrading. After you've downloaded one of the
tabbed
browsers, play around with it a
bit and read through the
tutorial to familiarize yourself with its features. Also,
when it asks
if you want to make it your default browser click "yes".
Lastly, you will need to have a PayPal and an e-gold account. If you don't already have an account you can sign up here: STEP 2: SIGNING UP FOR PAID EMAIL PROGRAMSBefore you start signing up for paid email sites, send yourself a test email to the new email account you just set up just to make sure it's working. These
paid
email sites have been specifically chosen for a couple of
reasons. They send a lot of paid email and they
are
sustainable. More information on
sustainable versus
scam site can be found on the paid to read
email section of my web site.
Click on each paid email link below.
Find the sign-up section of the site and enter your new email
address.
Each site will then send you a confirmation email. When you
receive
each confirmation email, first click on the confirmation link and fill
in the required information on the page it takes you to. For
the "where
do you want you paid email sent" option, choose email and
onsite.
This way, if something happens and the emails don't reach your external
inbox, you will always have copies on the individual sites.
Be
sure to
choose the categories of interest. The more you choose the
more
email
you will receive. DON'T
click on the cheat links like "I am a
cheater" or "I don't speak English".
You will then be able
to
login to
that get paid to read email site.
At the login page, bookmark the site before you login. Enter your information and login. Roboform will ask if you'd like to save your login information. Click yes. Do this for each paid email site on the list. Be sure to save both the confirmation email and the member info email that you will receive for each site. Now, go back to your email program and create a folder in your inbox for the site of the confirmation email you just clicked, say "Johnny's Paid Email". Then, return to that email and create a rule to move all messages from "Johnny's Paid Email" to the "Johnny's Paid Email" folder you just created. Follow this procedure for each get paid to read email site. When you are finished, you should have the login page bookmarked for every site, a separate folder set up in your email program for each site, and a rule to move each paid email to its correct folder. Here's the list of paid email sites grouped according to the number of search email they send:
By following the instructions, you should be able to get through the paid email generated from the list above in about an hour or two per day. STEP 3: READING YOUR PAID EMAILNow,
you're
ready to get paid to read email. You will start
to receive
paid email from each of the sites above within a day. You
will see them
start to pile up in the folders you created. Once you have a
bunch,
it's time to put this system to work. Be sure you have your
email
program set up so you can see your folders to the left and to the right
you can see the emails on the top and the preview pane on the bottom
(so you can actually see the message). Another configuration
that works is to have the folders to the left, the emails in the
middle, and the message preview pane to the right. Go to the
first email in your first folder. You should be able to see
the paid email link in the
preview pane (no need to actually open the email). The paid
email link
should have the paid email company's name in it and the word "runner"
in it. That's the link you want to click. There
will be other links in
it but you won't get paid for those. Look out for cheat links.
They'll sometimes put links like "click here to lose a dollar" just to
make sure you're reading the email.
When you click on the link, your default tabbed browser should open up. You may need to login initially when you're first getting set up. Make sure you click the "remember me" box when you login. You will probably also need to click a security number for the first email from each company each day. After you do that, you will see the paid ad and the timer at the top. Let the timer run out to receive credit for the email. Now, here's the beauty. While that time is still running, go back to your email program, go to the next folder (next paid email site) and follow the same process. You'll now have 2 paid ads open, in separate windows, and their timers running at the same time. You cannot open 2 emails at the same time from the same site. That's why you need to switch folders. Follow this process for all of the folders you have. Once you've gone through all of them, go back to your tabbed browser. You'll see all of your windows lined up at the top or the bottom (depending on the browser). There are different procedures for different browsers but in general: left click on the first window, make sure the timer has run out, then right click and chose close. If you have a center button, you can close the window simply by clicking it. Do this for each of the open windows. Then, go back to your email program and go through the folders again, this time choosing the next email down (or the next new one). Some of the emails will have 2 or more paid links in them. It usually will say in the subject line. Make sure to click them all. Just
an important
side-note here. Paid to read
email sites delete
inactive members after a certain period of time. Some of them may be a
short as 7 days. I do
realize
that you will have some days where
you are not able to read all of your paid email. You can
always go
back to older emails and read them (they do expire after a while
though) or just skip them. Just make sure you don't get
deleted. If you are going on vacation or cannot read your
email for an
extended period of time, you can login to your account, go to your
"User Account Info" and find the vacation date box. Enter the
return date so you don't get booted.
STEP 4: CREATING YOUR WEB SITE TO GAIN REFERRALSThere
are
only two conditions to using this
site.
The small link at the very bottom
of the
page (after Brought to you by:) MUST
stay as is. Also,
you MUST
modify the
link to "My Sponsor:" with the link to the site you are copying this
from.
Simply copy the web site address from the web site you are copying this
page from by copying it from the address bar in your browser
and
pasting it over the sponsor link below.
As long as these links stay, you have
full rights to duplicate this site. Don't worry, this will
actually work to your advantage in the long run because you will
eventually become a sponsor.
First, you'll need your referral links. Login to each paid to read email site and find the link for "referral info". You'll see your referral link. Highlight it and copy it. Paste it into a document (either MS Word, Excel, Notepad, or something) and save the document as referral links. Do this for all of the sites. Once you have all of your referral links then you are ready to make your web site. You may want to print these instructions at this point. The
easiest
way involves downloading
Nvu or Mozilla
Composer. Both are "what you see is what you get" (WYSIWYG)
editors allowing you to make changes in a word processing format when
viewing in the "Normal" panel.
Nvu is a tabbed editor that allows you to
edit more than one page at a time. You can download it for free
here.
Composer is the web page
editor that comes with Mozilla
Suite
(free download). Both allow you to also edit the HTML code
directly by viewing in the "Source" panel. After downloading
either editor, copy this
site. While
you have
this page open in
your
browser,
go up to "File", "Save" and save as type "Web Page, HTML Only" to your
computer. Remember
where you
saved
it!
Now, go to the top
of the page,
right-click the
logo at the top (i HATE PAiD EMAiL) and click "Save Picture
As". Save
the picture in the same folder where you saved the web page.
It
should automatically save the picture as "paidemail.gif". Use
Nvu or Composer and click the "Open" folder button. Find
your file
and open. You should now see a duplicate of this page you can
modify.
If you're looking for a good HTML-only editor, download (for free) Xoology Coda. This is an HTML editor that will make it easier for you to find the links you'll need to update. It will color code the HTML for this site and make it easier for you to modify this site with your links. Now, open Coda and open the file you just saved by going to "File" - "Open File" and finding your file. You should now see the HTML code for the file you just saved. If using Coda, green text will be a comment, red text will be a link (URL), blue will be a command and black text will simply be text which is displayed on a browser. If you are not using Coda, you can find the HTML code by opening this file in you browser and going to "View" - "Source" in your browser window. Now,
you
need to replace all of my links with yours. I have
placed a
"comment" line directly above all of the links that you will need to
replace. A comment starts with <!--
and ends with -->.
Every time you see a comment, there will be a link or links directly
below it that you will need to replace. Also, all of the
comments will
start at the left side of the page. The first link you need
to
replace is the URL (web address) for your site. The comment
reads "Replace
my web site address with yours".
There are two of these right
at the top of the page. You may not have your website address yet but
that's OK. Just skip it and we'll come back to it
later. The next link
is the email link. The comment reads "Replace my email with
your email,
both spots".
Replace my email address with yours. Next, scroll down until
you see "Replace
my PayPal and e-gold links with yours"
and replace my links with yours. You may need to login to
your PayPal
and e-gold accounts and find the referral or affiliate links for
these. Scroll down a bit more until you find the
links for the paid email
programs. Copy each of your referral links from the document
you saved
earlier and paste them over mine. Be sure to replace only the
links
within the first set of quotation marks. Leave the
TARGET="_blank" at the end of each link. When you have
replaced all of
the links, make sure to save the file. Now, if you go back to the
actual
web page (not the text portion you were just working on) and hit
refresh, you should see your new web site with all of your referral
links. Go through and test each link to make sure they work
and to make
sure they contain your referral IDs. There are a few more
links that you
may want to replace towards the end but this will depend on how much
of the system you chose to complete.
STEP 5: UPLOAD YOUR NEW SITE TO THE WEBI
will not
get into too much detail on this one but if your ISP offers
you web space, you can use that for your new page. See their
instructions as far as how to upload your paid email site and the paid
email logo. Make
sure you
upload both the web page AND the logo.
Otherwise,
you will not have the logo at the top
of your page. If you do not have web space through your ISP,
or chose
not to use that web space, here's a great place to find some FREE
web space: Free-Webhosts. If you are looking to purchase some
web space, I
would recommend 1&1. Just pick one of those and
upload your site as per their directions.
Note: If you need a good free FTP client, try Core FTP Lite. It allows you to easily upload pages, images, and files to the Internet. Once you have the URL (web address) for your site, don't forget to go back and change those first two links, if you haven't already. Once you've changed it, don't forget to upload your page again. STEP 6: DRIVING TRAFFIC TO YOUR SITEThere
are
many ways to drive traffic to your site. I will be
concentrating on only FREE
methods. The first and easiest way is to
tell your friends. Send them an email with your new web page
address,
just DON'T SPAM.
The next way is to post to different forums
and message boards. There are plenty of them out there for
this sort of
thing. The next two methods are actually a couple of other systems you
can duplicate. You can copy them and modify them with your
links to use in conjunction with you paid email system.
Unlike
paid
email, these systems both work fine without referrals, so duplicating
them is not necessary, it's just an added bonus. The first
involves the use
of traffic exchanges. Here you can find a great little system to increase web site traffic.
I would recommend running this system
for about an hour a day when you are first starting out. The
second uses a site called It Pays To Learn. This site
is a
great place to earn
cash and
gain referrals. I
have set up a page with more detailed information on a
free advertising system with IPTL.
Don't forget, if you copy these two systems, be sure to go back
into your web page and replace the links for my systems with
yours. Find more ideas on advertising
your site
for free.
STEP 7: CUSTOMIZE YOUR SITEAdd
new Paid
Email programs that you like, delete those that you don't
like, change the look of the site, etc... I will also update this
site with new programs as I try them. I will only add those
of the
best quality, so be sure to bookmark this site and check back from time
to time. If you'd like some additional information on HTML,
this site
has a great beginner guide: Page
Tutor.
Good luck with your new paid email site!Brought
